How I came to be a strength-based parenting coach: I have 4 kids who live at home with me. During the COVID pandemic I became more and more disengaged and disconnected from the people living in my house. Further, I saw all the smiling faces on Facebook and heard all about the people doing all of these incredible things and became more and more aware of my shortcomings as a mom.
I knew something had to change and that I needed to take action. My kids were growing up and growing farther and farther away from me before my eyes! I decided to enable my oldest daughter to help me. Together we decided to start a family blog. In the beginnings of our blog we were gifted a book that talked about strength-based parenting! Oh my goodness!!!! That book was amazing. I learned about different parenting strengths as well as children’s strengths.
Discovering and utilizing our strengths has given us opportunities to shine in different areas and lift each other up. We went from a family where everyone shared the same space but lived isolated from each other to a family that is constantly doing things together. It has been an amazing journey and we will continue to grow.
I am hoping to help parents build the relationships with their children that get their kids eyes to sparkle and empower them to be the parents they want their kids to see them as.
Please reach out to me to discover your strengths and we can start your desired parenting journey.
My Passion
I have a passion for helping families. With all the distractions in life, disconnection is more and more common among families. We are all running the rat race but the reality is that we blink, and our kids are grown! How old are your kids? Can you believe they are that old already? Where did all that time go? Well, I want parents to embrace the time they do have with their children. I see the decline of mental health in children and can’t help but tie the consequences of disconnected families with increasing emotional and mental health issues our kids must face alone. We do so much to try to keep our kids happy, but are we doing the right things? I do not want anyone to feel the loneliness I felt–whether parent or child. I want parents to see that THEY are the BEST parent for their child and no one else will really quite match up. I want parents to embrace the short time they have with their kids at home and then maintain strong relationships when those kids move onto adulthood.
